Drug use is one of the biggest parenting fears. It makes us wonder where we went wrong and perhaps most terrifying, it makes us worry that our kids will ruin or lose their lives as a result of drug abuse.
The Rockwood School District's Drug-Free Coalition is offering a five-session parenting course to help parents of kids ages 9-14 prepare themselves to guide their children to a drug-free path.
"Guiding Good Choices" will cover topics such as setting guidelines, avoiding trouble, preventing drug use, managing conflict and engaging family members. The five-session series will be held on Feb. 2, Feb. 9, Feb. 23, March 1 and March 8 at Rockwood South Middle School, 1628 Hawkins Road, Fenton, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. There is no cost to attend.
For more information and to register, contact Kristin Bengtson at 636-733-2158 or go to www.rockwood.k12.mo.us/drugfree
