Get Hopping! Here are the Top 12 Egg Hunts in St. Louis

Easter falls on Sunday, April 1 this year, so March is packed with egg hunts and family fun leading up to the big day. Here is our round-up of the Top 12 Easter Egg Hunts happening all over the St. Louis area:

Springtime Village with Kiddie & Doggie Egg Hunts at Purina Farms (3/14-31)

Celebrate Spring it at the annual favorite Springtime Village at Purina Farms, including adorable baby animals to pet and plenty of kid-friendly fun like face painting, photos with Peter Cottontail, scavenger egg hunt wagon rides, a variety show in the indoor theater, adoptable puppies and all the fun of the farm. Springtime Village is open Wednesdays through Sundays, 9:30 to 3:30 p.m., March 14 through March 31. Reservations are required by calling 314-982-3232 Monday through Friday between 9:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Admission is free and parking is $5 per car.

Don't miss the Kiddie and Doggie egg hunts that will take place on the Main Show Field on Saturday, March 24. Children up to age 10 can participate in the Kiddie Egg Hunts at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., and the Doggie Egg Hunts, at noon and 3 p.m., are for your four-legged family members. Registration is required for both egg hunts. All children, including those age 2 and under, must have a paid reservation. Cost is $10 per child. Dogs are $10. Adults are free. Admission to the egg hunts includes photos with the Easter Bunny, face painting, a bubble machine, bounce houses and carnival rides. Children should bring their own baskets to collect eggs. Hare in the Air Egg Hunt at Logan University  (3/24)

The Easter Bunny makes an unforgettable arrival at this free egg hunt that has become a much-anticipated annual event. Kids ages two to eight can enjoy a fun egg hunt with more than 15,000 eggs, costumed characters, a petting zoo, balloon artists and have their photo taken with the Bunny – who arrives via helicopter!

Registration begins in person at the event at 9 a.m. The Bunny is scheduled to arrive at 9:30 a.m. Hunts will be divided into age groups: 2, 3, 4-5, and 6-8. Children should bring their own baskets. Equine-Assisted Therapy Annual Egg Hunt (3/24)

Equine Assisted Therapy’s Annual Egg Hunt takes place on Saturday, March 24 at Longview Farm Park in Town and Country. Kids ages 2-12 can enjoy a unique egg hunting experience where they gather eggs and then get to “sell” them in order to buy games, toys, books and more from a General Store. Registration opens at 11a.m. at the event with the hunt beginning promptly at noon. Cost is $10 per child, with 100% of the money going to Equine-assisted Therapy, a nonprofit dedicated to providing therapeutic horseback riding activities for children and adults with disabilities. For more information, visit eatherapy.org

 

EGGstravaganza for Children with Disabilities in Dardenne Prairie (3/24)

At the Youth Activity Park in Dardenne Prairie on Saturday, March 24, kids 13 and under can hunt for thousands of candy-filled eggs, hidden throughout the park’s 25-acre facility. The Youth Activity Park Easter Egg Hunt features a visit from the Easter Bunny, as well as face painting, games, activities and more. From 1 to 3 p.m., there will be egg hunts for special needs children, divided into four categories: children with sensory impairments (1 p.m.), children with mobility impairments (1:30 p.m.), one with specially designed beeping eggs for children with visual impairments (2 p.m.) and one for children ages 13 and up with disabilities (2:30 p.m.). Bring your cameras for photos with the Easter Bunny as well. All egg hunts are free and pre-registration is required for both events. Registration is limited to 100 children per hunt. Easter EGGstravaganza at Rotary Park in Wentzville (3/24)

Thousands of eggs filled with candy and prizes await at this annual event at Rotary Park in Wentzville. Come early to enjoy face painting and games. Children will be grouped according to their age. Ages 1-2, 7-8, 9-10 will hunt at 9:30 a.m. and ages 3-4 and 5-6 will hunt at 10:30 a.m. Advanced registration is $4 per child. Day of event registration is $5 per child. WILD Family Fun Days GPS Egg Hunt at Babler Memorial State Park (3/25)

Join the fun at Babler Memorial State Park in Wildwood for a GPS egg hunt on Sunday, March 25. Eggs will be hidden in various places around the park, including on trails, under pavilions, in fields and everywhere in between. You can find a prize to take home at each location. No experience with GPS is necessary. You can sign up for a GPS device pre-loaded with the egg locations and you'll receive instructions on how to complete the hunt, or bring your own GPS device/phone and you'll be provided with the coordinates for all of the hidden eggs. The cost is $15 per adult/child pair, and $6 per additional family members. The hunts will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. or 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., beginning at the Babler Outdoor Education Center. For more information and to register, visit prcommunityed.org.

 

Get Hopping Easter Egg Hunt at Des Peres Park (3/31)

Hop on over to Des Peres Park at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 31 for the annual Easter Egg Hunt, where kids can meet the Easter Bunny and have their picture taken with him. The event is free and geared toward kids ages three to six. Kids should bring their own baskets. The hunt will be held rain or shine and is free to all, no reservations required. Hunt for a Cure at Queeny Park (3/31)

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society hosts its eighth annual "Hunt for a Cure" Spring Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to noon. Join the search for a cure and 80,000 eggs in scenic Edgar M. Queeny County Park in Ballwin. The Easter Bunny will arrive by helicopter. Other fun activities include favorite nursery rhyme characters, face painting, educational and interactive health booths, a petting zoo and pony rides. The cost is $12 per family with all funds going to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families. Easter Egg-Citement at Eckert's in Belleville (3/31)

Hop on over to Eckert's Belleville Country Store and Farms for their annual Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31, with baby chicks and bunnies, face painting, the Easter Bunny. Plant a seed and savor a yummy Easter treat. The largest egg hunts in Southwestern Illinois will take place at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $12 per child. St. Louis Hills Neighborhood Association Easter Egg Hunt in Francis Park (3/31)

The St. Louis Hills Neighborhood Association hosts its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 31 at 11 a.m. in Francis Park near the playground area. Children up to third grade can gather eggs filled with candy and prize coupons. Children in fourth through eighth grades will search an extended area to find four golden eggs each with a $25 prize. The Easter Bunny’s helpers will be on hand to help the little ones and for photo opportunities. In addition, representatives from St. Louis Children’s Hospital will be on hand to sell and fit bicycle helmets. Adults and children may bring their own helmet to be fitted for free, or children may purchase a new one for $11 per helmet. The child must be present to purchase a helmet. Enrichment Eggstravaganza at the Saint Louis Zoo (4/1)

Everyone likes a treat, and the animals at the Saint Louis Zoo are no exception. Visitors to the Enrichment Eggstravaganza on Easter Sunday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. can watch special "egg hunts" that the enrichment team at the Zoo has planned for their favorite animals. Keepers, curators and volunteers at the Zoo plan enrichment activities for the animals throughout the year as a way to make life more interesting for them. Annual Egg Roll at The Magic House (4/2)

The Magic House is on a roll – an egg roll! The Magic House’s front law is the site for the annual Egg Roll, where children 12 and under are invited to roll up their sleeves and participate in an “egg-citing” race as they use large spoons to roll their eggs across the finish line. Other activities include egg decorating, making “Medals of Eggsellence,” a special story time and an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny. The Annual Egg Roll will take place on Monday, April 2 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is included with regular Magic House admission. Reservations are not required.
