With over a century of experience in early childhood education, The Wilson School team excels at challenging and supporting young learners from age three through grade six. Our classrooms feature two full-time teachers and a 7:1 ratio, ensuring a thoughtful balance between teacher-led, themed activities and child-directed creative play. Join New City School on February 17 for a virtual Spotlight On: Upper Division. Learn about the curriculum and what a day in the life is like for students in 3rd through 6th grade. Connect with Head of School Alexis Wright and Upper Division Head Laurie Smilack, as well as members of the faculty. You'll also hear from a panel of current students about their experience learning and growing at New City School. Participants will learn from Dr. Andrew Butler, Chair of the Department of Education at Washington University and current New City School parent, about how current brain science and education research supports the teaching methods used at New City School.
Rohan Woods School, where Leadership and Academics meet, is small – by mission – just one class per age or grade level (age 2 - grade 6). With an 8:1 student/teacher ratio, faculty focuses on personalized instruction and project learning to ensure students positively embrace our challenging curriculum for future success, develop a love of learning and practice the skills to problem solve. Toddlers and their grownups can learn, create and play during Toddler Thursday at Mastodon State Historic Site. Each session explores a different topic related to nature and includes activities and a craft.

Visit The Magic House for Toddler Time, a special early-morning program for toddlers. Children age 1-4 can take part in exhibits and exclusive interactive activities designed just for little ones. There are new themes every week!
The Gateway to Reading program is a parent-child workshop that focuses on strengthening reading skills while engaging in fun, literacy-based activities. Participants will receive a free toolkit of materials to help children in their reading journey.
