Elementary Age

Go on a hayride after dark around Faust Park. Then wander through the candlelit historic homes where refreshments and storytellers await.

This free family event includes hayrides, a bonfire, and a scavenger hunt where the first 10 kids to finish will receive a prize. There will also be fun with crafts and pumpkins. Don't miss the Haunted Caverns at the end of the program. 

Grab your treat bags and don your costumes for Trick or Treat Trail in The Grove! Visit participating businesses in the neighborhood for goodies for both kids and grown-ups. 

Children can walk through a Halloween Harvest Village, visit a candlestick maker, a farmer and more at the Harvest Festival and Open House at the Waldorf School of St. Louis. There will even be a magical guest waiting at the journey's end! As families wander through the Harvest Festival, a short activity will accompany each stop along the way, where there will also be small natural gifts of the season.

Bring a blanket and join in on a morning storytime in beautiful Forest Park. These outdoor storytimes take place on Thursday mornings through October 28 in the Anne O'C. Albrecht Nature Playscape Meadow area.

Surround yourself with the magic of the season as the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House becomes alive with living jewels. Escape the cold and enjoy the warm temperatures inside the Butterfly House's tropical conservatory as more than 1,000 jewel-toned butterflies surrounding you in free flight.

There are two ways to participate in the Jack O'Lantern Trail and Trunk or Treat 2021 at Faust Park.  Decorate your vehicle in a family friendly way for trunk or treat, or decorate a pumpkin, either individually or as a group, for the pumpkin decorating contest. You can also participate in both!
