Elementary Age

The 4th of July Festival kicks off at 10 a.m. with a parade. The Family Fun Zone, which features games, crafts, a balloon artist, petting zoo, and more, is open from noon to 7 p.m. There will also be food vendors and live entertainment. The fireworks show kicks off at dusk.

The free festival includes live music from Butch Wax and the Hollywoods followed by fireworks at 9 p.m. 

Gather at the outdoor amphitheater in Tower Grove Park for a summer of fun children's performances by beloved local entertainers. The free interactive shows are part of the Children's Performance Series, introducing children to the performing arts in a fun interactive way. Storytellers, musicians, dancers and more will encourage kids to clap along and be part of the experience.

See favorite children's entertainers like Celia, Nitro Joe, Babaloo and more at free Wacky Wednesdays held at the Kirkwood Performing Arts Center. 

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.

Kids can get up close and explore big trucks and vehicles at this free Touch-a-Truck event at the North County Recreation Complex. Kids can climb aboard and explore these impressive vehicles that they usually only see from afar. 

Can you and your family create truly ugly art? Come to Bad Art Night at the St. Louis County Library and create the worst masterpiece you can think of. Compete to take home the world's ugliest trophy!
