Enjoy a special viewing of the Blue Moon during a two-hour stroll through evening and into the early night with your family.

Fishing is not normally allowed at Shaw Nature Reserve, but the Missouri Department of Conservation is teaming up with the Reserve to provide a special fishing experience for first-time or young anglers.

Participants will also learn outdoor skills, hear a story, play games, make a craft and take a hike in the early evening using flashlights to find items in the story.

In this two-hour experience at Shaw Nature Reserve, a certified tree-climbing instructor will teach you to ascend on your own into a tree canopy. The course is designed for the first-time climber and for families with children age 8 and up.

Equipment, bait and assistance will be provided. At least one adult should attend for every two children, and fishing is for kids only.

For ages 6 to 12. Cost is $14 per child; $12 per child for members of the Missouri Botanical Garden. Registration is required.
