This family-centered play date, sponsored by Parents as Teachers, is 
designed for parents and their children ages 6 months to 3rd grade. At the block party stations, you'll explore early math and science skills together with your child. At the nature stations, children will do hands-on activities that stimulate their curiosity and understanding of the world around them. Other actitivies include music and a playground.
Food from local restaurants will be provided at no charge to participating families. The event launches Parent University, a new program that offers child development and parenting information along with family and community engagement.
It's offered by Parents as Teachers and Vernare Community Resources. This partnership comes about through Vernare Learning, which is opening a new charter school in the city of St. Louis in 2016, enrolling students in kindergarten through 2nd grade.
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This free event will be held at Hyde Park and is open to all.
