Parents of children with complex education needs and/or medical needs are invited to learn ways to work effectively with the doctors, teachers, and therapists that are part of their children's daily lives at this free workshop.
Led by Lee Bascom, MSW, LCSW, topics to be covered include ways to get organized, shrink waiting lists, identify supports, find written materials and online sites, and connect with must-know community resources. Bascom, who has more than 15 years of expereince working as a special education and medical social worker, works with individuals of all ages, especially children between the ages of 3 and 12 and their families.
This workshop is sponsored by Miriam Academy. It's free but RSVPs are requested. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Aquarium visitors will be immersed in a world of shark-centered adventures and have opportunities to get up close to the sharks during Shark Week at the St. Louis Aquarium.
Open Gym at Miss Kelly's Gym is an opportunity for any child to have supervised free play in the gym. They can work on existing skills, try something new, or simply play around. It is completely up to them! Open Gym is open to both members and non-members ages 12 and under.
