Sensory Friendly Science Time features reduced noise, modified lighting and sensory-friendly demonstrations at the Saint Louis Science Center. Kids with sensory sensibilities are invited to explore the Science Center during these times, held Sundays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Science Center guests will experience:

  • An accommodating environment throughout the Science Center.
  • A reduction in loud noises from the lobby’s ball machine and the Earth Science gallery’s animatronic Tyrannosaurus rex.
  • Modified lighting, sound reduction and adjustable captioning devices in the OMNIMAX® Theater.
  • The Energy Stage Show at 12:15 will be much quieter.

The Saint Louis Science Center is certified as Sensory Inclusive™ by KultureCity®, which is dedicated to making STEM accessible to everyone with sensory needs.

Sensory Friendly Science Time is free and reservations are not required. All are welcome!

Explore songs, finger plays, music and more during this Music & Movement class for ages 0-6. Some sessions are held in person at various branches of the St. Louis County Library. Some sessions are virtual.

Potty Training 101

Is it time to potty train your toddler? The St. Louis County Library is offering Potty Training 101 to parents of children ages 2-3. This free workshop for parent and child includes a potty-themed storytime, and parents & caregivers will receive information to get them started on the potty training process. Attendees will also receive a potty seat, step stool, training pants and a potty-themed board book.
