Bring your kids to the Missouri History Museum for the Winter Getaway for free activities, family films and music just for kids.
You'll enjoy interactive musical performances, movies, drop-in make-and-take craft workshops, puppet shows, movement workshops and more.
December 27: Teddy Bear Tales. Bring your favorite stuffed animal to a special "Step into the Story" event featuring books about bears, followed by a special showing of the family friendly documentary Unstuffed: A Build-A-Bear Story. There will also be photo opportunities with larger-than-life furry friends.
December 28: Step into the Story: Hip-Hop. Families are invited to join hip-hop dance workshops, decorate a mic craft and learn about the history of the music through an interactive, large-scale story experience in the Des Lee Auditorium. You can also try out the graffiti chalk wall.
December 29: On the Road Again. Learn about the history of planes, trains and automobiles at the travel-themed artifact touch table, go on a vehicle scavenger hunt, enjoy storytelling, and fun activities based on the book Missouri Weird and Wonderful. There will also be a live game show to test your knowledge of Missouri trivia.
Admission is free, and early arrival is recommended.
Winter Getaway is Dec. 27, 28, and 29 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. There will be a Noon Year's Eve party on Dec. 31

Kids can work on existing gym skills, learn new skills or just play around during Open Gym at Miss Kelly's Gym in Creve Coeur.
This 7,000 square-foot makerspace is designed for kids to play, explore create and collaborate. Visitors have a chance to "paint" on the digital easel, use a pottery wheel to create a clay creation, design for a 3D printer, launch air rockets, build robots and circuits and more!
Storytelling in the Museum is an in-person storytelling event happening at 10:30 a.m. at the Missouri History Museum. This event, perfect for the preschool set, features engaging stories with themes like Grandparents Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and mealtime. Storytelling in the Museum is free.
