Participants will also learn outdoor skills, hear a story, play games, make a craft and take a hike in the early evening using flashlights to find items in the story.

Through interactive water play stations, kids can keep cool while learning about water bugs and monarch butterflies.

Dancers of all ages and abilities are invited to shake to the rhythm of the drums.

Children and parents alike will delight in learning about pioneer life from St. Louis to Independence, Missouri, as well as the journey out west.

Planetarium educators will narrate what is happening during the eclipse and there will be fun activities for all ages.

This back-to-school bash includes lots of fun activities for kids, including inflatable bounce houses and inflatable obstacle course, face painting, pony rides, a story time in the indoor theater, and visits with adoptable pets. Celebrate Independence Day at the Old Courthouse with special ranger talks, mock trial vignettes, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence and a concert by the Independence Band.

Kids will learn about the variety of wildlife in their backyard and build a native species habitat to take home.

Preschoolers will learn about the colors of the rainbow and get creative with a color mixing activity.
