13 “Egg-ceptional” Egg Hunts in St. Louis This Easter

Grab your baskets and get ready to indulge in plenty of jelly beans, because we’ve rounded up 13 of the most “egg-ceptional” egg hunts in the St. Louis area. Whether you’re looking for a local community egg hunt or an exciting Easter extravaganza at one of your favorite local attractions, you’ll find that each and every one of these events offers something special for families ready to celebrate the season.

1. Hare in the Air

The Hare in the Air Egg Hunt returns to the campus of Logan College in Chesterfield this year on Saturday, March 28. Hare in the Air includes egg hunts for children ages 2-8, with a total of over 15,000 eggs just waiting to be found!  Registration for this free event begins at 10 a.m. and is open to the public. The Easter Bunny even arrives by helicopter at 11 a.m.

In addition to the egg hunts, Hare in the Air will also feature family-friendly activities like a petting zoo, balloon artists, costumed characters and even pet adoptions. 

2. Breakfast with the Bunny and Easter Egg-citement at Eckert’s

Hop on down to Eckert’s Belleville location on March 21, 22, 28, 29 and April 3 and 4 for a variety of Easter activities the whole family can enjoy. Indulge in a hearty country meal at Breakfast with Bunny in Eckert’s Country Restaurant or take part in Easter Egg-citement, where you can see baby chicks and bunnies, get a photo with the Easter Bunny and participate in Easter Egg Hunts that take place every hour on the hour.

3. Enrichment Extravaganza at the Saint Louis Zoo

Kids aren’t the only ones who can hunt for eggs; at the Saint Louis Zoo, the animals can do it too. Visit the Zoo on Easter Sunday (which falls on Sunday, April 5 this year) to chat with zookeepers, participate in kids’ enrichment activities from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and watch special “egg hunts” that zookeepers have prepared for the animals.

Seatings are also available to enjoy Breakfast with the Bunny at the Saint Louis Zoo on March 21, 22, 28, 29 and April 4 at 9 or 11 a.m. Pre-paid reservations are required. Click here for more details about these special Easter events at the Zoo. 

4.  Hunt for a Cure in Queeny Park

The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society’s 5^th annual “Hunt for a Cure” Egg Hunt is scheduled for Saturday, April 4 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Queeny Park. Pre-register online for a $10 Family Pass so the whole family can enjoy face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo, educational and informational booths and more. The LLS Bunny is scheduled to arrive via helicopter at 11 a.m., followed by egg hunts for a whopping 60,000 eggs.  

5. Bunny Hop at Shaw Park

The City of Clayton hosts its annual Bunny Hop at Shaw Park on Saturday, March 28 from 10-11:30 a.m.  Children ages 1-8 can hunt for eggs filled with prizes, make crafts and enjoy a petting zoo. The egg hunt begins promptly at 10:30 and there will be plenty of photo ops with Mr. Bunny himself. Cost is $6/Resident, $8/Non-Resident and $10 on the day of the event.

6. Kimmswick Easter Egg Hunt

Take a drive to the charming city of Kimmswick, where local merchants donate thousands of eggs filled with candy and prizes for the annual Kimmswick Easter Egg Hunt. This year’s hunt will take place on Sunday, March 29 at 1 p.m. in the field by the Apple Butter Pavilion, and afterwards kids can walk from shop to shop to collect their prizes. The Easter Bunny will even be “hopping” through town to hand out eggs to adults who attend too.  

7. Get Hopping Easter Egg Hunt at Des Peres Park.

Bring your own baskets to Des Peres Park on Saturday, April 4 at 10 a.m. to hunt for eggs, meet the Easter Bunny and have your picture taken with him. This free event takes place rain or shine. The Get Hopping Easter Egg Hunt is for kids ages 3-6.

8. Easter Egg Hunt at The Meadows in Lake St. Louis

The Meadows at Lake St. Louis is hosting a free Easter Egg Hunt for the community on Saturday, March 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Guests can enjoy bounce houses, pony rides, games, face painting and more, and children ages 10 and under can participate in the main attraction – which is of course the Egg Hunt.  

9. Springtime Village Egg-citing Egg Hunt at Purina Farms

Springtime Village at Purina Farms is always a popular seasonal attraction for St. Louis families, and on Sunday, March 29 there is even more fun to be had. Egg-citing Egg Hunts are scheduled at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. so visitors who head out to Gray’s Summit can hunt for eggs, see baby animals and even get a photo taken with a baby bunny or lamb.

Tickets cost $8 for children ages 3-12, and must be purchased ahead of time by clicking the link above. Children ages 2 and under are free.

10. Peeps Easter Egg Hunt at Six Flags.

Six Flags is getting in on the egg hunt action this year by hosting the Peeps Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 4. Children ages 10 and under (who must have valid park entry and an event wristband) are invited to enter the theme park early and hunt for eggs filled with everyone’s favorite Easter candy.

The event is limited to the first 100 participants (and their guests, so yes, parents can accompany their kids) and takes place 30 minutes before Six Flags opens for the day. So if your children want the chance to participate, you will need to arrive early to be one of the lucky 100 to get that event wristband. 11. River City Rascals Easter Egg-stravaganza

Gates open at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 4 at T. R. Hughes Ballpark in O’Fallon for the annual River City Rascals Easter Egg-stravaganza. The free event takes place rain or shine, and over 10,000 eggs will be hidden. Call (636) 240-2287 for more information.

12. Teen Egg Hunt in Kirkwood Park.

Older kids are often left out of egg hunts, but the City of Kirkwood is hosting a special Teen Egg Hunt for kids ages 10-14. On Friday, April 3 from 7:30-9 p.m., participants will meet at Kirkwood Park for pizza, drinks and an egg hunt in the dark. Cost is $5 for Residents and $7 for Non-Residents. Pre-registration is required.  

13. Easter Egg Roll at the Magic House

The Easter Egg Roll at the White House has been an annual tradition since 1898, and here in St. Louis we have our own tradition – the annual Egg Roll at the Magic House. In the great tradition of the White House, the Magic House is inviting kids 12 and under to roll up their sleeves and participate in an “egg-citing” race as they use large spoons to roll their eggs across the finish line.

Spring-inspired activities and a special visit from the Easter Bunny are also part of this fun event, which takes place on Monday, April 6 from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. All activities are free with regular museum admission.
