Little Nature Explorers: Salute to Dr. Seuss

Little ones ages 3 to 5 will have the opportunity to interact with other children and strengthen their understanding of nature at the Shaw Nature Reserve. Little Nature Explorers classes are a great way to prepare your child for preschool or kindergarten.

Classes include multiple hands-on indoor and outdoor activities designed to strengthen your child's connection to the world around them.

9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Shaw Nature Reserve in Gray Summit.

Cost is $12 for members of the Missouri Botanical Garden and Shaw Nature Reserve passholders. $15 for the general public. Registration is required.

Great Rivers Greenway has teamed up with the Saint Louis Zoo for the fifth annual free greenway scavenger hunt. Community members are invited to look for the many varieties of native bees that you can see buzzing around greenways and search for special hidden souvenirs you can take home! Starting August 1, BEE on the lookout for hand-painted bee rocks along all 140+ miles of greenways. Saint Louis Zoo ALIVE (Active Leaders in Volunteer Education) teen volunteers hand-painted hundreds of rocks like three different species of bees found along the greenways: American bumblebee, brown-belted bumblebee and two-spotted bumblebee, plus a few of the endangered rusty patched bumblebee.
