The Saint Louis Art Museum invites high school students to participate in this year's High School Art Project: German Expressionists. This special, one-day program will give art students and their teachers the opportunity to focus on Max Beckmann and the German Expressionists, with media focus on oil pastels.
Workshop leader will be Bill Perry, practicing artist and visual arts teacher at Central Visual and Performing Arts High School in St. Louis. While viewing our newly installed collection of Max Beckmann's paintings and our soon-to-be-off-view German Expressionist galleries, students will create a collaborative artwork reflective of self-chosen content.
Teachers are invited to bring four art students to participate in the High School Art Project: German Expressionists on Monday, October 24, 2011 at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Teachers may select from one of two sessions: 8:30 am to 11:00 am or 11:30 am to 2:00 pm.
To reserve space for your students, please fill out the attached registration form. Register early, space is limited. All registration requests must be received at anne.perry@slam.org by Friday, October 7, 2011. Teachers will receive instructional information once accepted into the program. All art materials will be provided. Participants are responsible for transportation to the Museum.
