Explore the St. Louis Zoo after dark at Boo at the Zoo. Bring your little ghouls and goblins to this non-scary celebration designed just for kids. Though this is not a trick-or-treating experience, family friendly costumes are encouraged.
Find various costume characters lurking about the Zoo and play "Hide and Ghost Seek" and look for the ghosts hidden in the trees along Historic Hill. Look hauntingly good as you pose in front of ghosts, pumpkins, Frankenstein or mummies for spooky photos. Take a spin on the not-so-spooky "Scare-ou-sel," the Conservation Carousel draped in cobwebs! Rides are free!
There will also be 10-foot tall Halloween statues lurking around Historic Hill, perfect for spooky selfies. These gentle giants include a skeleton, dragon and snake. Also perfect for pictures is the light-up Saint Louis Zoo sign, which will glow in the dark as night falls.
At the Herpetarium, check out the turtles, tortoises, frogs, toads, snakes, lizards and more! For a little more hocus pocus, check out the Insectarium and see a variety of creepy, crawly creatures. Also be sure to visit the Caribbean Cove! (It's free!)
Boo at the Zoo in 2022 will be held October 14-30. Admission for ages 2 and up is:
October 14-16: $10 for Zoo members; $12 for non-members.
October 17-20: $9 for Zoo members; $11 for non-members.
October 21-23: $10 for Zoo members; $12 for non-members.
October 24-27: $10 for Zoo members; $12 for non-members.
October 28-30: $11 for Zoo members; $13 for non-members.
Children under 2 are free.
Tickets can be purchased in advance on online the day of the event. Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Boo at the Zoo is held nightly Oct. 14-30, 2022. Two admission time slots are available for each evening of Boo at the Zoo: 5 to 6:30 p.m. and 6:30 to 8 p.m. Boo at the Zoo ends at 8:30 p.m. nightly.
Free parking is available on the North and South lots during the event. You may enter through the North or South entrance.

Come over to the dark side and meet the amazing birds that exist by moonlight. Owl Prowls are an opportunity for families to learn about owls from the naturalists at the World Bird Sanctuary.
Kids can work on existing gym skills, learn new skills or just play around during Open Gym at Miss Kelly's Gym in Creve Coeur.
This 7,000 square-foot makerspace is designed for kids to play, explore create and collaborate. Visitors have a chance to "paint" on the digital easel, use a pottery wheel to create a clay creation, design for a 3D printer, launch air rockets, build robots and circuits and more!
Storytelling in the Museum is an in-person storytelling event happening at 10:30 a.m. at the Missouri History Museum. This event, perfect for the preschool set, features engaging stories with themes like Grandparents Day, Hispanic Heritage Month, and mealtime. Storytelling in the Museum is free.
