Join The Magic House for Clay Play Day featuring all things ceramic! The Magic House staff artists will share their ceramic skills as they perform pottery wheel demonstrations throughout the day. Visitors are invited to get their hands messy by creating their own masterpiece using hand building techniques in the museum's Art Studio.
Clay Play Day will be held Saturday and Sunday, January 30 and 31 during museum hours. It's free with Magic House admission, but reservations are required.

Take Clay Play a step further and participate in Small Group Ceramics, happening at 9 a.m. on January 30 and 31. These small group pottery lessons will take place before the museum opens to the public. Children will have the chance to coil, pinch and throw their own earthenware creations as well as enjoy one-on-one direction with a ceramic expert. Each lesson includes a custom pottery piece to take home. Reservations are required. Capacity is limited. Cost is $5 for members and $15 for non-membners and includes all-day admission to The Magic House.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Preschool Science Series is an open exploration learning lab for young scientists, ages 18 months to 5 years and their families. Activities are designed around research that shows children learn best through play, inquiry and shared experiences with their parents and caregivers.
