Gather at the west end of Tower Grove Park to enjoy a family movie and fun activities for all ages. Fun, educational, hands-on activities for kids will relate to the theme of the movie. All activities are free.
July 15: A Bug's Life. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m. with the U.S. Forest Service, The Butterfly House, the Missouri Department of Conservation, Great Rivers Greenway, St. Louis Wildlife Project and others, including a storytime from the St. Louis Public Library at 7 p.m. The movie, A Bug's Life, begins at 8 p.m. sharp. Food will be available for purchase from Vine & Dash and popsicles from Pete's Pops.
August 12: Over the Hedge. See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Preschool Science Series is an open exploration learning lab for young scientists, ages 18 months to 5 years and their families. Activities are designed around research that shows children learn best through play, inquiry and shared experiences with their parents and caregivers.
