Kids can race a balloon rocket and design their own car engine as they learn about space travel.
They'll see the principle of propulsion at work in a real rocket launch, and build their very own Shuttle Copter to fly to the skies!
Part of the Art at Your Library series at the St. Louis County Library. Presented by Mad Science of St. Louis. For ages 6-11.
Space Travel will be held:
June 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the Jamestown Bluffs Branch
June 21 at 3 p.m. at the Grand Glaize Branch
Free, but registration is required. Learn more and register at slcl.org
Take your family to watch birds of prey fly right over your head, meet the wonderful bird ambassadors of the World Bird Sanctuary up close and much more.
At this free art program for ages 3-6 the focus is on the process of making art rather than the finished product. Dress to get messy!
Splash and play with your little one in this fun morning activity. No registration is necessary.
See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Preschool Science Series is an open exploration learning lab for young scientists, ages 18 months to 5 years and their families. Activities are designed around research that shows children learn best through play, inquiry and shared experiences with their parents and caregivers.
