Found at Sea presented by Shakespeare Festival and Kids in the Middle

Saturday, March 18, 2017
This event has already passed.

Found at Sea is an exploration of a child's feelings as her parents go through a divorce. When a young girl named Marnie can't sleep, she and her father turn to the works of Shakespeare to weather the storm outside, as well as the tempest brewing in their own house – Marnie's father is moving out.

Using selections from A Midsummer Night's Dream, King Lear and Pericles, Marnie's bedroom is transformed into Shakespeare's worlds, from a magical fairy kingdom to epic seascapes (and pirates). In this fun and adventurous theatrical experience, Marnie and her father illustrate the enduring importance of family bonds that cannot be broken.

The presentation will be followed by a talkback and Q & A session with Randi Borroff, MSW, LCWS, ACSW, a clinical supervisor and community outreach counselor at Kids in the Middle, a St. Louis organization that supports families and children during and after divorce.

Part of Shakespeare Festival St. Louis' Festival Education Tour. At the St. Louis Public Library Central Branch location. 2 p.m.  Free.  Recommended for children in grades 2-5.
