Based on the Oscar-winning Dreamworks Animation film, Shrek the Musical is a fairy tale adventure, featuring all new songs from Jeanine Tesori and a sidesplitting book by David Lindsay-Abaire. Shrek brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there's more to the story than meets the ears.

Produced by Rockwood School District's Spotlight Productions, Shrek the Musical is the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking donkey and a fiesty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude and over a dozen other fairy tale misfts, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Don't miss this student production that includes creative costumes, imaginative sets, puppets and a fire-breathing dragon!

Performances will be held at Marquette High School in Chesterfield the weekends of July 14-16 and 21-23. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. (doors open at 7 p.m.) and Sundays at 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:30 p.m.).

Tickets are available in advance online or at the door. Children 3 and under are free as long as they are seated on the lap of a ticket holder.
