Returning to the Saint Louis Zoo is the bird show “Winging It,” presented in partnership with World Bird Sanctuary. Birds will take the stage at the Lichtenstein Sea Lion Arena, at alternating times with Sea Lion Shows, daily from May 24 through August 15, plus Labor Day Weekend August 31 - September 2.

In this amazing, free-flying presentation, a variety of exotic and native birds will demonstrate their natural abilities, and some will even soar over the audience. With the help of these fine feathered ambassadors, trainers will clear up fact from fiction about birds and their behaviors. The program will keep the guests on their talons with audience participation and pop quizzes, fun and fascinating conservation facts and tips on how people can help protect wildlife and animal habitats.

Birds that may be seen in the shows include tawny eagle, turkey vulture, red-tailed hawk, American barn owl, black-crowned night heron, African grey parrot, Harris’s hawk, white-bellied stork and bald eagle.

Shows are held dailly:

Tuesday-Thursday: 11:30 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Friday-Monday: 9:15 a.m., 11:20 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Labor Day Weekend: 9:15, 11:20 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.

Winging It happens where the Sea Lion Shows take place - the Lichtenstein Seal Lion Arena and are approximately 20 minutes long. Admission is $3.95 per person.
