The Contemporary Art Museum invited families to celebrate creativity, play and togetherness at Family Day. Drop in anytime to participate in free hands-on art activities, games, entertainment for kids from DJ Munchkin, puppet shows, a babywearing movement class, and more.
Family Day at the Contemporary Art Museum will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon and is free, but registration is strongly encouraged.
Scheduled activities include:
9:30 a.m.: Babywearing Movement class by Pack Dance, designed for caregivers and their little ones
10 a.m. - Noon: Hands-on art activities for all ages, sounds from DJ Munchkin, and lively performances by Blaque Berry Puppets and Dances of India.
Outside, explore fun activities for the whole family provided by the YMCA Mobile Y game bus, Great Rivers Greenway, the Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Gallery and more.

See the Zoo's California sea lions perform acrobatic and athletic feats, including Olympic-style dives on a high-diving platform, flipper walks, frisbee tosses and plenty of surprises. While on stage with the sea lions, the Zoo's trainers explain sea lion behavior and positive-reinforcement training, in addition to the need for conserving the sea lion's ocean habitat.
The Preschool Science Series is an open exploration learning lab for young scientists, ages 18 months to 5 years and their families. Activities are designed around research that shows children learn best through play, inquiry and shared experiences with their parents and caregivers.
