Summer Zoo Weekends feature extended summer hours Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Enjoy the Zoo’s exhibits and attractions this summer, including:

  • New! Two-year-old polar bear twins Kallik and Kallu made their debut at McDonnell Polar Bear Point this spring, and baby Asian elephant Jet is making frequent public appearances at his River’s Edge habitats.
  • Sea Lion Show presented by Together Credit Union
  • Stingrays at Caribbean Cove presented by SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital
  • Giraffe feeding experience
  • Emerson Zooline Railroad
  • Penguin & Puffin Coast
  • Judy and Jerry Kent Family Sea Lion Sound
  • Wild Explorer Virtual Reality Experience showing “Great Migration” and “Gorilla Trek.”
  • 4D Theater showing “Animal Kingdom 4D”
  • Experience more for less when you buy a one-day Adventure Pass, or a year-long Zoo membership. Adventure Pass holders receive all-day access to select ticketed attractions. Save $2 when you buy an Adventure Pass online. Zoo memberships offer even more value and include a year of parking perks; select attraction tickets; discounts on experiences, select events and at gift shops.
  • Share an experience like no other when you book a Behind-the-Scenes Tour or Day Program! 

Admission to the Zoo is free. Fees apply for some attractions and to park on the Zoo parking lots.

Wild Lights at the Saint Louis Zoo

Delight in brilliant, colorful light displays with spectacular photo opportunities throughout the Zoo during Wild Lights. Walk through two tunnels with dazzling lights, and enjoy themed displays featuring snowflakes, candy canes, gumdrops, penguins, polar bears, tigers, giraffes and much more at this St. Louis family-favorite holiday tradition. Santa is making a stop at The Butterfly House before he makes his trip around the world, and he wants to enjoy a meal with your family! Enjoy a delicious dinner, visit Santa's Workshop and Mrs. Claus's Cookie Kitchen, and have your picture taken with the guest of honor - Santa!

Candy Cane Hunt at Kirkwood Park

Santa's Reindeer have been busy hiding candy canes in Kirkwood Park. Some have prizes attached to them. Kids can come early to decorate a hunting bag. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. The hunt starts at 10 a.m., and after the hunt, kids can take pictures with Santa. Pre-registration is required.
